Life-long Learning Center

The Life-long Learning Center is a training and consulting division at University of Economics – Varna, which offers professional long-term and short-term qualifications, courses and language classes and qualification courses for teachers. The Center has been founded by the regulations of the Higher Education Act and the in-house regulations of the University of Economics – Varna in November 2017 under the leadership of Prof. Stoyan Stoyanov, PhD (Deputy Rector of Finance and Facilities). The organizational structure of the center consists of a Director, LLC Inspector, LLC accountant and educational - methodical council. The main objective of LLC is to develop new professional skills, contribute to improving the quality, qualifications and professional competence of graduate students.

Training is done in group form. The following forms of study apply to group training: lectures, exercises (seminars, case studies, games, etc.), training practice, discussions, interviews, consultations, course assignments and projects, independent preparation, exams, development and thesis defense. The individual training includes: consultations, visiting individual lectures and exercises, self-preparation, individual assignments and projects, exams, development and thesis defense. Lecturers are professors from the University of Economics – Varna, professors from other universities from the country and abroad (visiting professors) and practitioners. The Resource Center has been created to provide educational and reference literature and information materials for graduates, university students and lecturers.

In September 2018, the Licensing Procedure of the Life-long Learning Center is expected to be completed, according to the requirements of NAVET (National Agency for Vocational Training and Education).

PROFESSIONAL TRAINING

According to the requirements of the VETA the graduates are awarded certificates of professional qualification. Graduates of professional training for acquiring qualification for a partial profession, for updating or extending the professional qualifications are also awarded certificates for professional training.

CONTINUING TRAINING

The training of students in different specialities is with period of training up to 5 or 6 semesters as per curricula approved by the Academic Council and programs for each discipline. Students who complete the courses successfully are granted Certificate of professional qualification. This certification allows them to work in the relevant professional field.

ADDITIONAL TRAINING

University of Economics - Varna performs parallel training of students for acquisition of additional or new professional qualification. For this purpose, two forms of training are offered annually: majors and courses.

The period of training the students and postgraduate students in majors last five or six semesters, as per curricula and training programs approved by the Academic Council. Students who complete the major (training) are granted Certificate of professional qualification. This certification allows them to work in the relevant professional field.

Students are enrolled when a group of minimum 10 people is formed from 05 October till 10 October, 2018 upon presentation of the following documents:

Application form with full data of the applicant (obtained from room 214)
Bank slip for the training fee paid with DSK Bank
Two photos (one photo only if the application is for a course)

In case that the minimum number required for forming a group is not available, there is an opportunity for individual training.

The Training starts from October 12, 2018 and is held as per the announced weekly schedule (on the dashboard at room 214) in the main building of the University of Economics - Varna.
